Cherries and strawberries Clafoutis

Clafoutis is a French dessert who has its origins in the rural farning of Limousin, France. Clafoutis comes from the verd "clafir" which means "to fill". The original recipe is made with black cherries and a middly sweet, egg-rich batter. Once heated, the black cherries give an almond flavour. Clafoutis is very similar to a pudding and the recipe is simmilar to the crepes recipe. It's usually served with powdered sugar or cream.

Ingredients

  • 400 g cherries
  • 400 g strawberries
  • 250 ml milk
  • 130 g flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 g butter

Instructions

  • Remove the seeds from the cherries, cut the strawberries in half and place the fruits in a tray lined with butter.
  • In a separate bowl put the eggs and mix them with a whisk or a mixer until foam forms. Add the flour and vanilla extract, mix until you get a homogeneous composition and at the end add the milk gradually stirring continuously to avoid the formation of lumps.
  • Place the composition in the tray over the fruit and bake for 40-50 minutes at 180 ° C. It can be served both hot and cold powdered with powder sugar or cream.
